My son had severe flat feet when he was 7. His feet were so severe that he would get open wounds (sores) where the arch bone protruded against his shoes. The Doctor said he would have rocker feet by the time he was a young adult. We decided to do the surgery for flat foot correction on each foot. After the surgery he wore foot orthotics until the cartilige in his foot turned to bone.He has 80 percent correction in one foot and 100 percent correction in the other.Having this surgery was the toughest decisions my huband and I ever had to make, since it was considered optional, but having that surgery was one of the BEST decisions we have made. Our son is now 21. He has had an active life hiking, jogging, andjump ropes, he also competed in fencing, and has amazing foot work! Thanks to Dr Croshaw. The millers

Hi, I am a 22 year old female living in Toronto,Ontario,Canada. I was interested in the several procedures presented because I have never heard of them or have come across them. I really want to correct my bunions and the corns that I have on both feet. To add I also have flat feet so I have been told that the low arch is one of the sources for the misalignment of my feet. I just want to inquire what steps I have to take to fix my foot problems and how can I arrange to come out there and have the procedure done.
Thank you

Dr. Sadrieh, I have a 13 year old son who has had very pronated flat feet for years. We have been back and forth to different Dr.'s since he was two years old. Both of his feet are bad but his right foot is so much worse. He is literally walking in the inside of his ankles. The Dr.'s we have seen have only provided him with shoes and inserts for them. THIS IS NOT HELPING. My son has been complaining for the last several years of foot pain, and is now hurting in his legs, knees, and hips. We desperately need your help. I am afraid my child will end up handicapped if something is not done. This problem is excelling quickly it seems. Please Dr. my son needs your help fast.

My son just turned 11 and I think this surgery may help him immensely. He is currently using orthodics but I don't believe it helps much. I live just outside of Las Vegas, I would like to come for a consultation or is there anyone in Vegas that does this surgery. It seems to be a new procedure that not many Doctors have heard of. Please Advise

My daughter will be 3 in September and is suffering with "VERY" flat feet, hpyo extensive ankles and has serious over pronation on her left foot.
I have been to several doctors with not much help which is very frustrating.

I have an understanding of flat feet, but I honestly feel my daughter has a more serious issue.

kind regads with any help would be great

Dr. Sadrieh,

I saw you featured on the Doctors today (21 May 09) and I was wondering if the same procedure can be used on adults? I am 39 and I have occasional pain at the joint area of the big toe on both feet. I do have flat feet and sometimes experience pain wearing flat or high heeled shoes. I also have pain sometimes on the heel of my right foot if I wear the same pair of shoes everyday. My bunions are very slight, and not really that noticeable, but the pain is quite noticeable when I have it. Can you offer any suggestions or recommendations?
